The University Library is divided into three departments: At Ullandhaug, in the Bjergsted Park Campus and at the Archeological Museum, near Stavanger city centre.


Collections

  • Subject books, research reports, reference works, public information, statistics etc.
  • Academic journals, electronic and printed. 
  • Sheet music, records, video recordings and DVDs.
  • National and international newspapers.
  • Fulltext databases containing books, journals, newspapers and reference works. 
  • Subject databases that support the studies and academic disciplines of the university.
  • Fiction, drama and poetry in Norwegian, English, German and French.

     

The Ullandhaug Library
The Library is centrally located near the entrance to the Kjølv Egeland Building. Collections consist of books, periodicals and databases within the fields of pedagogy, tourism, health and social sciences, humanities, economics, technology and science.


The Bjergsted Library
The Bjergsted library is situated in the Bjergsted Park near the city centre and thd Concert Hall, in the building that also houses the Institute of Music and Dance. The library supports the disciplines of music (classical and jazz), dance, pedagogy, and music production and recording technique.


The Library at the Archeological Museum
The Library at the Archeological Museum is situated in Peder Klows gate, near Stavanger city centre. It is open to the museum's visitors and for everyone else with an interest in the subject areas covered by the museum: Archaeology, botany, geology, history, conservation and museology,

The Library subscribes to several databases and journals for the use of UiS students and staff. For off campus access, you need to log in via the proxy server.
