  • Buckley-Leverett theory

    • Derive the Buckley-Leverett equation S_t + f(S)_x = 0 for two-phase oil-water flow

    • Give an algorithm for constructing its solution

    • Explain (mathematically) the algorithm for constructing the solution

    • Calculate oil recovery before and after water front breakthrough

  • Imbibition - Basic theory for solving a model of the form S_t = (a(S)S_x)_x for spontaneous imbibition

    • Mathematical model for spontaneous imbibition, semi-analytical solutions, numerical solutions
