The Learning Environment Committee (LEC) at UiS is been appointed by the University Board. The LEC attend to the environment that the studies and their contents are offered within. This includes the physical, digital, psychosocial, organisational and educational learning and study environment.

Based on the faculties' portfolio reports, the commissioning from the board and the faculty boards' decisions, the education committee and the board handles the annual case regarding the systematic work with quality and the work with development and changes in the portfolio.
All programmes must be periodically evaluated every five years. The programme is evaluated according to current laws and national regulations, as well as additional criteria decided by UiS.
One of the goals of the quality work at UiS is to ensure the students' total learning outcomes at programme level. The programmes must also be based on updated research- and development work, and meet national and international expectations to the education.
