Department of Chemistry, Bioscience and Environmental Engineering

The department offers education and scientific research in the natural science subjects Chemistry and Environmental and Biological Chemistry.

The Department of Chemistry, Bioscience and Environmental Technology is part of the Faculty of Science and Technology.

The department offers study programs at all levels within the areas Biological Chemistry, Chemistry and Environment (full list on our Norwegian pages). The department is responsible for basic tuition in chemistry at the faculty level.

There are two research groups in the department: Chemistry and Environment and Biological Chemistry. The latter is organised at Center for Organelle Research (CORE), which is an integrated part of the department.

There are currently 50 employees including doctoral and postdoctoral fellows, and 350 students at the department.
