Seminar: The Horizon2020 research project RUNIN - The Role of Universities in Innovation and Regional Development

The project focuses on how universities can contribute to innovation and regional Development and at this seminar three RUNIN researchers will present their research objectives.

The aim of the RUNIN project is to explore how universities contribute to innovation and economic growth in their regions through research seeking to examine how universities fulfill their third mission in relation to regional industry and explore the range of university engagement with regional firms and institutions.

The project focuses on how universities can contribute to innovation and regional development through four main themes: People and Networks; Policies and Interventions; Places and Territories; Practices and Governance.

The project runs for a 4-year period until September 2020.

In this seminar three RUNIN researchers will present their research objectives under the subjects:

  • University-Industry Collaborations from Proximity Perspectives
  • Academics’ role in knowledge transfer across space: a network approach
  • Mobility and collaboration as learning opportunities in PhD education
