Appointed to the OG21 board

OG21 is the Norwegian national technology strategy for the petroleum industry. Centre director Merete Vadla Madland at The National IOR Centre of Norway was asked to join the board to represent the university sector.

Develop R&D cooperation

«An important task is to further develop R&D cooperation in the oil and gas industry. This is particularly true of technology areas that are important for meeting the main challenges on the Norwegian continental shelf in the future. In addition, the board will advise on the authorities' work on research and technology development in the petroleum sector,» Minister of Petroleum and Energy,Terje Søviknes, says in the appointment letter.

The Minister of Petroleum and Energy has formally appointed Madland to the board. She will attend her first board meeting June 15th.

Stronger together

Søviknes looks forward to Madland's contribution in the board and wishes her good luck.

Madland hopes she can be a useful contribution to the board.

«Through The National IOR Centre of Norway, I have in-depth knowledge of the interaction between authorities, companies and researchers. I strongly believe in cooperation – I know we are stronger together. We must make a joint effort, that's an important part of the national oil and gas strategy,» Madland says.
