Mass vaccination starts Monday

Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th of January you can get the swine flu vaccine at campus Ullandhaug.

In cooperation with Stavanger municipality, a mass immunization against swine flu for students and staff will take place in Tjodhallen at the University of Stavanger. Second year nurse students and professional nurses from the municipality will administer the shots. The programme will be supervised by the company doctor.

Although the flu epidemic has settled for now, health authorities continue to urge that as many as possible take the vaccine, as a defence against future outbreaks.

Open two days
The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) has encouraged college or university towns to offer the vaccine to students who have not taken it. Statistics from the NIPH show that relatively few people between 20 and 29 years of age have done so.

First day of vaccination is Monday 18th of January. For this purpose, Tjodhallen in Kjølv Egeland's hus will be open from 13.30 to 17.00.

Tuesday 19 January, the vaccine will be offered between 10:00 to 15:00.

Bring your number
The last two hours of each day, the offer will be open to everybody in Stavanger municipality, not just students and staff at the University of Stavanger.

In order to get the vaccine, you will need to bring your Social Security number (personnummer). The vaccine costs 150 kroner.
Please note that you will have to stay on the premises for 20 minutes after having received the shot.
