The Global Events Congress V – Advances in Event Management Research & Practice

The Global Events Congress V will be hosted by The Norwegian School of Hotel Management, University of Stavanger, on June 13 – 15, 2012.

Global Events Congress V will build on the success of the four previous congresses in Brisbane, Kuala Lumpur, Guangzhou and Leeds, and continues to be the significant international meeting for event management researchers.
Norway, and city of Stavanger in particular, are delightful destinations and a variety of interesting experiences are planned for this congress.

The Norwegian School of Hotel Management, which is the second oldest hotel school world-wide, will celebrate its 100 year anniversary in 2012, and the conference will be part of the celebration programme.

Program
The conference will have three main strands:
1) Festivals and “festivalization”
2) Sports events and destination development
3) MICE, especially focused on conferences and meetings

The programme includes opening ceremony, key notes (research and practice) within each strand, and research paper sessions, reception and a conference dinner. Key journals will be invited to select good papers for publishing. Detailed program will be available late January 2012.

Conference opening Wednesday 13th June 2012 at 13:00
Conference closing Friday 15th June 2012 at 16:00
