Congratulations to our two new professors!

Aksel Hiorth and Merete Vadla Madland have both gained promotion to professor.

The director and director of research at The National IOR Centre of Norway have both received promotions to professor in reservoir technology. Madland and Hiorth has a long history of working together, and now they are being promoted at the same time as well.

About the new professors:

Aksel Hiorth (41) has been awarded promotion to professor in reservoir technology. Hiorth has his doctorate from the University of Oslo. He has been appointed associate professor of reservoir engineering at the University of Stavanger since 2008. Since 2013 he has been employed as research director at The National IOR Centre of Norway, University of Stavanger.

He has received several awards for outstanding research work; SR-Bank's innovation award (2011), Norwegian Petroleum Directorates IOR 2010 (2011)  and Lyse's Research Award (2013).

Merete Vadla Madland (48) has been awarded promotion to professor in reservoir technology. Madland has her doctorate from the University of Stavanger and has worked as an associate in reservoir technology by Science Faculty, Department of Petroleum Engineering since 2005. Since 2013 she has been employed as director of The National IOR Centre of Norway, University of Stavanger.

She has received also recieved several awards for outstanding research work at the university; SR-Bank's innovation award (2011), NDPS IOR 2010 (2011) and Lyse research praise (2013).
