For the benefit of children

School and Learning is a prioritized research area at UiS. It questions the very foundation of the development of knowledge societies.

School and Learning projects study different age groups, from early childhood to adolescence, to students and their teachers and also includes professional workers.

Projects can have a micro or macro perspective, a local or global, or a historic or futuristic.

Research projects question child development and children’s well being in daycare, nurseries and schools.

They question subjects and the pedagogy of teaching, learning environments and learning potentials, special needs, and relationships between education and work.

Projects can study organizations’ change processes, interventions and implementation, and some projects result in research based material or programs to be used in nurseries, schools and higher education.
