The NHH Symposium is Northern Europe’s largest conference entirely arranged by students. The conference, which is hosted by students at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), is held biennially in Bergen. The NHH Symposium for 2015 put productivity on the agenda. The NHH Symposium 2015 emphasized productivity from a macro perspective; the interaction between innovation, technology and the future of labor markets; the importance of sustainability for the future of firms; and finally debated decisions and implementation of solutions.
Terje Osmundsen, director of Scatec Solar and Chairman of the Board for The Centre for Innovation Research was in charge of the group work for innovation during the NHH Symposium 2015. Osmundsen presented his group’s solutions to solving innovation during the second day of the conference. Is the era for big innovations over? The productivity growth that boomed during the industrial revolution, is now stagnating. Are we ready for yet another boom, or is a unique era with productivity growth close to an end? How will the private sector increase its competitiveness, and how will the public sector be sustainable?
