Individual fellowships call under the Marie Curie actions

Three calls for individual fellowships has been published under the specific programme People in the Marie Curie actions.

 The fellowships are:

  • Intra-European Fellowships (IEF)
  • International Outgoing Fellowships (IOF)
  • International Incoming Fellowships (IIF)

The Marie Curie actions individual fellowships are directed towards experienced researchers who are contemplating a research stay of 12-24 months duration in another European country or in a third country (most non-European countries). The Marie Curie actions have a bottom-up profile, and support intersectoral and transnational mobility.

By EU definition, an experienced researcher is someone with a PhD or four years full-time research experience. However, although first post-docs are not excluded, a more “senior” profile is preferred.

What is covered by the fellowship? The Marie Curie fellowships provides for a monthly salary, mobility allowance and travel costs. The host institution receives remuneration for lab costs, overhead and management as a fixed percentage of the total project cost.

As the deadline is 18. August 2009, now is the time to start the process if you are tempted. More information on the Marie Curie actions is found on http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/mariecurieactions/home_en.html , and the direct link for the call is http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/dc/index.cfm?fuseaction=UserSite.FP7CallsPage .
