The fellowships are:
- Intra-European Fellowships (IEF)
- International Outgoing Fellowships (IOF)
- International Incoming Fellowships (IIF)
The Marie Curie actions individual fellowships are directed towards experienced researchers who are contemplating a research stay of 12-24 months duration in another European country or in a third country (most non-European countries). The Marie Curie actions have a bottom-up profile, and support intersectoral and transnational mobility.
By EU definition, an experienced researcher is someone with a PhD or four years full-time research experience. However, although first post-docs are not excluded, a more “senior” profile is preferred.
What is covered by the fellowship? The Marie Curie fellowships provides for a monthly salary, mobility allowance and travel costs. The host institution receives remuneration for lab costs, overhead and management as a fixed percentage of the total project cost.
As the deadline is 18. August 2009, now is the time to start the process if you are tempted.
