SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) is the largest individual-member organization serving managers, engineers, scientists and other professionals worldwide in the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry. SPE has recently awarded professor at University of Stavanger, Reidar Bratvold, with the Management and Information Award 2017.
In addition to his work at Department of Petroleum Engineering, Bratvold is currently supervisor for one of the PhD students at The National IOR Centre of Norway. He has also been project manager at one of the Centre's research projects.
Rewards outstanding achievements
The election of Bratvold as the 2017 recipient of this award is a recognition not many professors at University of Stavanger has achieved before him.
About the award (from the SPE home page): The SPE Management and Information Award recognizes outstanding achievements in or contributions to the advancement of management and information in the industry. This award was formerly known as the Economics and Evaluation Award.
Bratvold will receive the award 10 October during the SPE Annual Awards Banquet. The banquet is a featured event during the Society’s Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition that will take place from 9–11 October at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
