Getting there


Most people travel to Stavanger by air. It is also possible to reach Stavanger by train, ferry, bus or car.

BY AIR
The airport of Stavanger, Sola, is situated 15 km from downtown Stavanger. The airport offers daily connections to various airports in Europe, such as London, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. In addition, there are frequent departures to Norwegian cities such as Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Kristiansand. More information ans schedules are available on:

There are airport busses between Sola International Airport and Stavanger city centre every 20 minutes. A ticket costs NOK 70 one way. (www.flybussen.no)

BY RAIL
Stavanger Railway station is situated downtown Stavanger, opposite of the bus terminal, Byterminal. It offers regular service between Stavanger and Oslo. The journey takes approximately eigth hours. In addition, there avre frequent departures to Kristiansand, a journey of approximately three hours. More information are available on www.nsb.no

BY FERRY
Fjordline offers frequent departures between Bergen-Haugesund-Stanger and Newcastle (UK). Travelling by boat mey be less expensive than travelling by air, and you have a larger luggage allowance. More information and schedules are available on www.fjordline.no

BY BUS
Nor-Way Bussekspress offers frequent departures between Bergen-Stavanger and Oslo-Stavanger. More information ans schedules are available on www.nor-way.no

BY CAR
If you plan to come to Stavanger by car, we recommend using one of the many route planners available on Internet, such as www.stavanger-guide.no
If you have your own car, there are parkinglots available for visitors on campus. Parking is free of charge.
