Explore the nature

The Stavanger-region is known for its diverse and grand nature which invites to various activities like surfing, fishing, cykling, hiking, golfing and more.

Scenery to boot

Let us start on one of the amazing beaches. Miles and miles of open landscape and waves that draw surfing enthusiasts from within and outside of Norway. The first beach is right by the university. The Sola beach has been praised by the international press.

Then, let’s try a boating cruise into the mysterious fjords lying just off the Stavanger peninsula. The Norwegian fjords are listed as one of the world’s most attractive destinations in the prestigious National Geographic Traveler. For this is where the world-famous Norwegian fjords start. Lysefjorden with the awesomely beautiful Preikestolen (the Pulpit Rock) formation lies here, as does Kjerag, the world’s best base jumping place.

Next, try a short car trip to the skiing terrain, and the top class alpine tracks. Or would you like to stop at one of the six golf courses lying within 30 minutes’ drive from the University?
