International Student Orientation Days


All new international students are required to attend Orientation Days. Please pay attention to the following days depending on your study programme and Faculty at the University of Stavanger.

SPRING 2010

The Orientation Days are obligatory for all newcomers and consists of sessions concerning both academic and practical issues (registration, exams, tutorials) as well as social events, information about the town, region, health system, residence permit, etc. Orientation Days have been designed to help international students settle into academic life in Stavanger.

Arrival Days:

  • Faculty of Science and Technology - 04.01.2010
  • Faculty of Social Sciences - 04.01.2010
  • Faculty of Arts and Education - 18-19.01.2010 (Comparative Educational studies)

Orientation Days:

  • Faculty of Social Sciences - Wednesday, 06.01.2010

  • All students - Friday, 22.01.2010; different rooms - see the programme for details

The University organises a pick-up service from the airport/train station to the University dormitories within this period. Please, keep in mind that the pick-up service will not be available outside the dates mentioned above (only between 9 a.m.- 9 p.m.).

The electronic application for pick-up service will be available from 1st of December 2009.
