Master of Science in Mathematics and Physics

Admission requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and/or Physics is required. Other degrees with documented corresponding in-depth extent of mathematics and physics courses may be considered. All candidates have to document on their academic transcript of records at least 120 ECTS points in Mathematics/Physics. 120 ECTS is roughly equivalent to a total workload of 70 percent (70 %) of a total Bachelor’s degree. BSc in Norway provides the students with 180 ECTS points in total.

Please note that sometimes the courses on transcript of records are given as separate and identifiable courses, while other programmes have these disciplines embedded in other courses. Applicants will have to evaluate their own course portfolio and calculate the aggregated sum of credits in these disciplines and evaluate the number of credits obtained in mathematics/physics

English language requirements

Proficiency in English is required of all students in Norway. Students who are not native speakers of English, have to document their knowledge of English. Please find detailed information regarding required test and minimum scores in the article on English language requirements (see link in the left-hand menu).
