MSc in Petroleum Geosciences Engineering

Admission Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Geosciences Engineering and/or engineering Bachelor's degree with 30 ECTS points in mathematics and/or statistics, and 40 ECTS points in geosciences (geology and/or geophysics).

All candidates have to document on their academic transcript of records at least 30 ECTS (equivalent to a total workload of 50 percent of an academic year) in mathematics/ statistics/ calculus of probability. 

Academic level

Since we receive a high volume of applications, admission to this programme is highly competitive. Applicants must demonstrate competitive academic standards and top grades. 

Please note that applicants who have already completed or are in the process of completing a degree equivalent to a Norwegian MSc degree in a related field will not be prioritized for admission.

English language requirements

Proficiency in English is required of all students in Norway. Students who are not native speakers of English, have to document their knowledge of English. • Required documentation has to be either uploaded or delivered directly to the UiS (depending on the student category) by 5th of March 2015.
