Getting here

By air

The airport of Stavanger, Sola, is situated 15 km from downtown Stavanger. The airport offers daily connections to various airports in Europe, such as London, Copenhagen and Amsterdam. In addition, there are frequent departures to Norwegian cities such as Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, and Kristiansand. More information and schedules are available on Avinor's website.

There are airport busses between Sola International Airport, Madlakrossen and Stavanger city centre every 20 minutes. A ticket costs NOK 130 one way, NOK 90 with student card.


By train

Stavanger train station is situated downtown Stavanger by the bus terminal, Byterminalen. It offers regular service between Stavanger and Oslo and the journey takes approximately eight hours. In addition, there are frequent departures to Kristiansand, a journey of approximately three hours. More information and schedules are available on: www.nsb.no.


By ferry

Fjordline and Color Line offers frequent departures between Bergen - Stavanger - Kristiansand and Hirtshals (Denmark). Travelling by boat may be less expensive than travelling by air, and you have a larger luggage allowance. More information and schedules are available on: www.fjordline.no and: www.colorline.no.


By bus

Nor-Way Bussekspress offers frequent departures between Bergen-Stavanger and Oslo-Stavanger. More information and schedules are available on: www.nor-way.no.

The local buss number 6 and 7 frequently go between downtown Stavanger, Madlakrossen (stop for airport bus) and the UiS campus. More information is available on: www.kolumbus.no.


By car

If you have your own car, there are parking lots available for students and visitors on campus. Parking is free of charge.
