Admission requirements for the academic year 2012/2013

The target group for this programme are those students who have previously completed a bachelor degree within one of the following disciplines: hotel, hospitality, tourism or restaurant and are aiming for a higher level education in hotel, tourism or restaurant leadership.

Applicants with bachelor degree within business management or equivalent may be considered for admission only if they can document work experience within hospitality/tourism industry (min. 1 year of full-time employment required).

Having prior work experience within the respective field is desired but not required. Since we receive a lot of applications (over 400 for 15 study places available in 2011/2012), admission to this programme is very competitive. Normally, the level of grades of those that are short listed is equivalent to a Second Class Upper Division or better. Applicants with a grade level equivalent to Second Class Lower Division, or lower, will not be considered for admission.

Please note that applicants who have completed or are in the process of completing an MSc degree will not be considered for a scholarship. The faculty's policy is not to offer financial support or to prioritize admission to students under this category.

English Language Requirements
Proficiency in English is obligatory for all Master students in Norway. Students who are not native speakers of English, have to document their knowledge of English. Please find detailed information regarding required test and minimum scores here.
