9. CAMPUS

Q: Do you have a map of the campus area?
A: Campus map

Q: What is the campus area like?
A: Ullandhaug was chosen as the location for the future University of Stavanger in the beginning of the 1960s. No less than 300 acres were reserved for the University campus of the future - a testimony to the far-sightedness that characterises our University culture today.

If you live in Stavanger, you can drive to the University in approximately ten minutes. It does not take much longer than that if you wish to use a bicycle. Public transport is also extremely efficient and there are frequent departures to and from the campus area.

The three faculties are located at Ullandhaug (main University campus) with the exception of the Department of Music and Dance, which is located in idyllic surroundings in the city centre, near the Stavanger Concert Hall in Bjergsted Park.
The UiS Student Welfare Organisation manages student accommodation, a childcare centre, health services, cafeterias, a sports centre and a bookshop.
