The Stavanger region has close to 300 000 inhabitants. In 2005 Stavanger was awarded the distinction of being Norway´s most productive region.

Stavanger is situated on the south-west coast of Norway and was founded in 1125. It is Norway´s fourth largest city and has a population of 115 000.
