TUITION
The University of Stavanger is a state university and does not charge tuition fees. All students are required to pay student fees of approximately NOK 1200 per year (about $ 180/ € 150).
VISAS/RESIDENCE PERMITS
Students from the EU/EEA countries staying for more than three months are required to apply for a residence permit from the Police Authorities. Students from EU/EEA countries who plan to stay in Norway for a period of less than three months and students from the other Nordic countries do not need a residence permit.
Students from other countries need a visa and/or residence permit before departure from their homeland. Students are advised to contact the nearest Norwegian Embassy or Consulate for information on visa procedures. The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration requires that applicants must be ensured subsistence for the period to which the application relates. All applicants should be able to document financial means equivalent to full funding by the State Educational Loan Fund at the current rate. For the academic year 2008-09 this amounts to NOK 81,400 that is intended to cover living expenses. Please contact your local Norwegian embassy for an application and more information.
