PhD Regulations

The Regulations for the degree Philosophiae Doctor (PhD)  were adopted by the University Board on April 1st 2004, and all signed doctoral agreements are subject to these regulations. Read more about the official Norwegian version of the regulations.

The Regulations for the degree Doctor Philosophiae (Dr. Philos.) at the University of Stavanger were adopted in 2006. The official Norwegian version of the regulations is published at Lovdata. 

In June 2007 the Guidelines for the Evaluation of Candidates for Norwegian Doctoral Degrees were adopted by the Research Training Committee. Norwegian version - Veiledning om bedømmelse av norske doktorgrader

Both the regulations and the guidelines are based on the recommendations made by The Norwegian Association for Higher Education Institutions.
