History and religion

Both history and religion are subject of great importance, and a source of getting to know our own identity.

By studying history and religion the perspectives are mostly that of finding out as much as possible about the past. But it is only by studying the past, one can work out conclusions of the present, and develop critical awareness about the way the present situation is.

Knowledge of religions and worldviews is essential for understanding an increasingly globalised world. The Christian faith is an significant part of Norway’s cultural heritage, but people with other religions and worldviews have become more visible in Norwegian society during recent decades.
