Jazz improvisation
The course yields 30 ECTS and introduces the student to basic techniques related to jazz music.
Teaching embraces ensemble playing with the emphasis on improvisation techniques, simple arrangement/composition and an introduction to the standard jazz repertoire, jazz theory and ear training.

Please note that the language of instruction depends on student interest and availability of academic staff. Thos who wish to qualify as teachers will normally have placements in Norwegian schools and knowledge of Norwegian is highly recommended.
