Bachelor and Master programmes in Norwegian - Social Sciences


While applying for a study programme after Norwegian Language and Culture Programme, please pay attention to the fact that different study programmes have got different admission requirements mentioned below. You might need specific subjects or courses from upper secondary school, or relevant work experience in addition to the general entrance requirements. Please note that you are also competing with other Norwegian candidates applying for the same study programmes. The number of study places varies and sometimes is very limited (e.g. nursing - only 2 places for international students).

GENS Applicants must meet the minimum requirements for Higher Education Entrance Qualification in Norway (read: “generell studiekompetanse”) and fulfil the language requirements in Norwegian and English. As GENS is an admission requirement to Norwegian Language and Culture course, you are formally qualified to apply for any programme marked with GENS. Please note that some programmes are very competitive and the grades from your secondary/higher education will be taken into consideration. Additionally,if you are applying for any master programme, your grades and bachelor diploma will be evaluated.

HOTA Applicants are required to documents at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
