Drama – one-year programme

The one-year drama programme comprises 60 ECTS and is an arts and culture subject rooted in the dramatic arts and teaching.

The goal of the programme is to provide understanding of and insight into the value of drama as a subject and mode of working, and the way the drama discipline can provide people with collective experiences as well as creating and developing identity. The programme is taught through a mixture of lectures, group work, project work  and discussion. Central thematic subjects are theatre and drama as a means of communication, national and international cooperation and Augusto Boal's theories on drama relating to minority groups and intercultural communication.

The course is tailored both for students taking the general teacher training programme and for teachers seeking additional qualifications. It can also be taken as an independent study programme by students with a general interest in the subject, and can be incorporated into a bachelor's degree.
