Physical education/sport – bachelor’s degree programme
The bachelor’s degree in physical education/sport is a three-year programme (180 ECTS).
Students will acquire knowledge of key theories and concepts in this field, and will be able to facilitate beneficial activities for children and young people.
The course will focus on pedagogic work in schools, the voluntary sports sector, gymnasiums or public sporting activities. Its first year will form the third or forth year of the general teacher training programme. Students who take a fourth year with practical teacher training (PPU) will be qualified to work as a subject teacher in compulsory primary and secondary schools and in colleges of further education.
Physical education/sport – one-year programme
The curriculum builds on the framework plan and regulations for the four-year general teacher training programme of 1 April 2003 from the Ministry of Education and Research. As a result, the course will focus primarily on work in schools, but will also be tailored to voluntary organised sport.
Physical education/sport (60 ECTS) can be incorporated as the third or fourth year of the general teacher training programme. The course can also lay the basis for further studies at bachelor’s and master’s degree level.
