Open lecture with Mathilde Bourrier

SEROS welcomes you to an open lecture with professor Mathilde Bourrier. She gives her lecture "Dealing wisely about methods: Keys for sound and reasonable research strategies in high-risk industries"

Mathilde Bourrier holds a PhD in Sociology from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (1996) and an Habilitation from the University of Technology in Compiègne (2004). She moved to Switzerland in 2006 to become full professor of Sociology at the University of Geneva.

Since 2016, she is affiliated as adjunct professor (prof II) at University of Stavanger and part of Centre for Risk Management and Societal Safety (SEROS). 

Bourrier is now a principal investigator in a research project sponsored by the Swiss National Research Fund (2013-2017) entitled “Unraveling lessons learned from the A(H1N1) pandemic to the 2014 Ebola Epidemic”. She is especially interested in organizational design and resources' allocation during severe and challenging conditions, like epidemics or pandemics.

After the lecture with professor Bourrier, the audience is invited to participate in discussions and with questions. Professor Siri Wiig at SEROS and Department of Health Studies will chair the event.
