Maximiliaan is a doctoral candidate at the University of Stavanger, Department of Economics and Finance. His research includes early childhood and economics of education. He is associated with the kindergarten project Play-based Learning.
Maximiliaan was a visiting research scholar at the Center for Labor Economics and Institute for Research on Labor and Employment at the University of California, Berkeley (January 2019 - December 2019).
Maximiliaan graduated cum laude (with distinction) from the University of Twente, Faculty of Behavioural, Management, and Social Sciences. He holds a Master's degree in Business Administration.
