Pågående forskning
Aslaug Mikkelsen er nå prosjektleder for prosjektet "How can leadership in task planning improve hospital performance?" Projektet er tverrfaglig og er organisert gjennom en nasjonal og internasjonal prosjektgruppe.
Arbeidserfaring
Aslaug Mikkelsen er professor i ledelse ved Handelshøgskolen ved UiS. Hun er utdannet sosiolog, men har sitt doktorgradsarbeid innenfor arbeids- og organisasjonspsykologi. I tillegg til en rekke internasjonale artikler innenfor ledelse, bedriftens samfunnsansvar, personalledelse og helse i arbeidslivet har hun skrevet flere bøker og bokkapitler om blant annet bedriftens samfunnsansvar, ekspansjon av olje og gass aktiviteter i Arctic, ledelse, organisering, medarbeidersamtaler og sykefravær.
Aslaug Mikkelsen har tidligere hatt lederstillinger i offentlig og privat sektor, blant annet som rektor ved Universitetet i Stavanger, som Fylkestrygdedirektør og som organisasjonssjef i bank.
Aslaug Mikkelsen er fra 2011 styreleder for Høgskolen i Nesna og fra 2012 nestleder i styret for Helse Stavanger.
