I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Caring and Ethics, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Stavanger, Norway.

I am also the Director of the PROFRES Research School for Professions-Oriented and Practice-Near Research - a partnered collaboration between the Universities of Stavanger (UiS), Agder (UiA), Nord and South-Eastern Norway (USN).

As a Cultural Studies researcher working in a healthcare context, my research is characterized by interdisciplinarity, and materialize along the following three tracks:

  • research on psychosocial interconnections between culture and embodied experience (including health, illness, cancer, ageing and dying)
  • research on psychosocial conditions for professional relational work in healthcare and welfare (including reflective practice, and ethics of care)
  •  qualitative research methods (including development of psychosocial methodology and methods)

In 2018, I received a Young Outstanding Researcher award and grant from the University of Stavanger.

I'm a member of the Professional Relations in Welfare research group and Network for Gender Studies at the University of Stavanger.

Since 2015, I have been a member of the Executive Committee in the International Research Group for Psycho-Societal Analysis.
I am a founding member of the Association for Psychosocial Studies, Stavanger Breast Cancer Research Group at Stavanger University Hospital, and Death: Emotions, Relations & Constructions (DERC).
