16th Nordic Corrosion Congress

Welcome to the 16th Nordic Corrosion Congress held in Stavanger 20-22nd May 2015.

Corrosion is defined as gradual destruction of materials by chemical reactions with the environment. The annual cost of corrosion worldwide is estimated to be more than 3% of the world's GDP.

Knowledge of effects from the environment, selection of materials, monitoring, and methods to lower the corrosion process are of major importance in order to hold the cost low. Topics on this meeting will focus on these challenges.

The congress is based on oral sessions during two dayswith parallel sessions with keynote lectures and plenary lecture.

The mayor of Stavanger will host a welcome reception at the Norwegian Canning Museum (Norsk hermetikkmuseum) on Wednesday 20th of May, from 19:00.

Besides this you will have the possibility to explore Stavanger and the beautiful surroundings during these days. A boat trip will be arranged from Stavanger in the fjords with high mountains and end at Fjordbris Hotel where the conference dinner will be held.
