Information regarding semester start at campus Bjergsted

Dear students at Faculty of Performing Arts , University of Stavanger.
It is a pleasure for us to welcome you all to the semester start at campus Bjergsted in August 2019.

We hope you will have a nice and educational time as a student here at the Faculty of Performing Arts. Togehter with engaged and active students we will do our best making your time abroud a year to remember!

Please be aware that there are two different campuses at the University of Stavanger. You will find our Faculty of Performing Arts close to the city center and the old town, in the beautiful Bjergsted Park.

Tuesday 13 August there will be an official opening ceremony for all students and staff at the Faculty at campus Bjergsted. The ceremony will take place in the Recital Hall, called “Lille konsertsal”. After the opening ceremony there will be served free tapas for everyone.

Compulsory meetings at Campus Bjergsted in week 33

For all new international exchange students, there will be arranged a compulsory meeting held by the University of Stavanger’s International Relations office.

This meeting will take place WEDNESDAY 14 AUGUST at 12.00-14.00 at campus Ullandhaug AR- house, room V-101
It is VERY important that you attend this meeting, there will be registration of attendance!

For all new international students it is recommended to read the International Student Guide closely before arrival.

There are several compulsory meetings in the beginning of the semester. It is very important for you to join the information meeting special arranged for the study program you are admitted to. You will here receive important messages regarding the programme, the different subjects, schedules, concerts, teachers and contact persons, information about exams and so on. 

Please read the Schedule for week 33 at campus Bjergsted 2019 closely.

For international students already situated in Norway

International students living in Norway already will have to do all the registrations by their own, such as getting access to the IT services used by the University of Stavanger.
StudentWeb wil open for registration in the beginning of August.

Or, you can visit our IT- assistent in the foyer Friday 16 August at 11.00-13.30.

Please notice! 
You will not be able to find your personal schedule in the timetable before the semesterregistration is complete. You need to sign up for the exams and for Canvas for all required subjects for the next study year regarding to your study plan.

Fadder 2019

In week 33 you will have the possibility to join the “Fadder” arrangement (“buddy week”) in Bjergsted and also at the main university campus at Ullandhaug. 
All new students who wish to attend the Buddy week need to sign up!

You can meet you buddy leaders at 10.00 a.m. Monday 12 August in Little Concert Hall, and travel together with them to campus Ullandhaug for the the big welcome ceremony the same day.

Access to the buildings at Campus Bjergsted

The Faculty's administration office is usually open from 10.00 – 15.00 from Monday to Friday, but in week 33, the opening hours will be from 08.30 – 15.00 each day (lunch between 11.30 and 12.00).

You need a special key and a blue chip for getting access to the school buildings at campus Bjergsted. A deposit of 500 NOK will be required, and must be paid by using a Norwegian Bank card or a prepaid card issued by the International Office.
