This course is part of the Norwegian Research School in Innovation (NORSI) and covers the qualitative analysis part of the common course in research methods under the NORSI program. The course will exclusively be offered as part of a NORSI common course announced on the NORSI website.

The course will survey the most commonly used qualitative analysis techniques in the field of innovation studies, including case studies, in-depth interviews, comparative analysis and discourse analysis.

Learning outcome


Knowledge:

Students will have an overview of the qualitative analysis techniques most commonly used in innovation studies and their epistemology and ontology.

Skills:

Students will be able to collect and analyze qualitative data relevant for innovation studies

General competence:

Students will gain general competencies in interview techniques and text analysis.

Method of work

The course will be taught as a one-week intensive course at the University of Stavanger.
