This is a project in robot technology.

Learning outcome

At the end of this course, the student should be able to solve one or more practical problems eg by applying previously acquired knowledge. The problem(s) must be solved within a certain time and the work must be documented in the form of a report and an oral presentation.

Contents

This project course will be based on knowledge acquired earlier in the study program. We will bring together several subjects such as signal processing, image processing with computer vision, pattern recognition, control theory and robotics in a few major projects to apply knowledge in practical applications. Typical practical applications will be linked to our robotic platforms, which includes both industrial robots, humanoid robots and Lego robots, but are not necessarily limited to this.

Coursework requirements

Compulsory course attendance that must be completed and approved before access to the laboratory: Electronic Course in Health, Safety and Environment.
Completion of mandatory lab assignments are to be made at the times and in the groups that are assigned and published. Absence due to illness or for other reasons must be communicated as soon as possible to the laboratory personnel. One cannot expect that provisions for completion of the lab assignments at other times are made unless prior arrangements with the laboratory personnel have been agreed upon.

Method of work

The project is implemented within 12 weeks and we expect that each student to spend about 15 hours per week on the project. Normally, two students work together on a project. Thus, scheduled workload is 360 hours per project. Each group is given a brief tutorial meeting each week.
