The students will work on a home assignment, comparing outdoor activity in Norway, with their native country.

Learning outcome

Following completion of the course, the student shall be able to:
  • Describe the different traditions within friluftliv in Norway and compare them to those in their home country. Discuss the differences and reflect on the opportunities/challenges they see in their home country.
  • Describe how friluftsliv is integrated into the curriculum in schools in Norway, and explain what friluftsliv is good for in schools and classes in general.
  • Describe how the Law of Internal Control influences planning and leadership when you bring groups/classes to an excursion.


Teaching in assignment writing and guidance.
  • Writing an assignment (4000 words +/- 10%)

Method of work

Some lectures in classrooms, but for the most part teaching is done with student led activities and coaching.
