UiS Faculty of Performing Arts invites you to a concert with the Italian jazz saxophonist Giulia Barba on Wednesday 7 December at 18:00 in the Eikenes-hallen, Bjergsted. The concert is organized in collaboration with nyMusikk Stavanger.

"Sonoro" is the second album in leadership, written and produced by the Italian jazz saxophonist Giulia Barba. The choice of atipic range is driven by the solid research that this combination of instruments could offer. The album reveals more focus on the writing and the collective improvisation process, in spite of the virtuosity of traditional jazz. Among the fifteen pieces, six are composed by Giulia Barba and eight ("Quadri") are totally free improvisation. "The Everlasting Voices" and "To an isle the water" contain the words of the poet W.B.Yeats, the lyrics for "Bassorilievo" and "Game Over" are by the composer.
