Everyone is invited to join as we celebrate achievements and milestones.

On 29 October 2004, the King in Council decided that Stavanger should have an university. Since then, the University of Stavanger commemorates this day by celebrating important milestones and outstanding achievements.
The ceremony is held in Tjodhallen, and everyone is invited - students, alumni, staff, and friends of the university. The new doctoral graduates will be honoured (the number is an all-time high), Sparebank 1 Sør-Norge and Lyse will present the awards for outstanding innovation and research, and we will cheer the winner of the Education and Learning Environment Award.
A few months ago, the government announced that it would grant UiS funding to establish a professional degree programme in psychology. This year’s keynote speaker is Lotte Hansgaard, Head of the Clinic for Mental Health Services for Children, Adolescents, and Substance Abuse at Stavanger University Hospital.
The event will feature artistic performances by talented students from the Faculty of Performing Arts and the Stavanger Student Singers. After the ceremony, coffee and cake will be served in the foyer.
The event is free and open to all. Please take your seat in Tjodhallen in time as the ceremony starts with an academic procession.
