UiS reads “Dørene lukkes” by Maren Skolem

A reading project to foster a love of reading and engagement across UiS.

Published Updated on

What is “UiS reads”? The concept is simple: students and staff at UiS receive a free copy of the book of the year, and we host several events that explore the themes of the book. In addition, the book will be included in teaching across a number of courses, and the student organization Ex Libris will feature it in its book club.

This year’s book, Dørene lukkes – en liten bok om sjekking (The Doors Close – A Small Book About Checking) by Maren Skolem, highlights several timely themes, such as mental health, social exclusion, dating, and friendship. We hope that as many people as possible will read it, and that it will help spark meaningful conversations between students and staff at UiS.

We would like to learn more about you who have received a copy of the book. If you complete a short survey, you will be entered into a draw to win gift cards for the SiS cafés. Three winners will each receive a gift card worth NOK 500 after the book pub event in March. We may contact you afterwards to ask a few follow-up questions.
