Are you a student or PhD candidate at UiS and have questions about writing? Or do you have reading or writing difficulties/ADHD and need advice on your rights and how to apply for support?
For UiS students
Do you need help with an assignment or exam you’re working on? Come to the Writing Cubes in the library to get feedback on your text.

The service is available to all students at UiS.
You can book a session of up to 40 minutes, or drop by during opening hours to see if a 20-minute session is available. Please use your student email when booking.
Bring your assignment and the assignment prompt with you when you come for guidance.
If you have booked a session, we recommend sending your draft to us by email no later than 12:00 (noon) the day before your appointment.
The cubes are located just behind the help desk in the library at Ullandhaug.
Please note: We reopen on September 1.
Our opening hours (from September 1):
- Mondays: 12:00–2:00 PM
- Tuesdays: 1:00–3:00 PM
- Wednesdays: 12:00–2:00 PM
- Thursdays: 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
For students with dyslexia or ADHD
Do you have questions about your rights and applications, or are you wondering if you might have reading or writing difficulties?
We offer information sessions, drop-in support, and dyslexia screening for UiS students.
For PhD candidates
Come to a writing course, join Shut up & write, or book a guidance session.
Throughout the year, we offer various writing courses for PhD candidates. Every other week during the semester, we also arrange Shut up & write sessions, a chance to get some writing done and meet other PhD candidates.
On the website for our PhD course series, PhD Complete, you’ll find an overview of all upcoming dates.
You can also book a guidance session in academic writing.
