The AIxTech research group is a team of interdisciplinary experts focused on exploring the latest advances in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and other intelligent systems that are transforming the technological landscape. The group's research interests span a wide range of areas, including natural language processing, computer vision, deep learning, reinforcement learning, data analytics, security, privacy, blockchain and immersive technologies.

One of the primary objectives of the group is to identify and develop new applications for these technologies across a variety of domains, including healthcare, finance, transportation, and more. The group also seeks to address critical research questions in these areas, such as how to improve the interpretability and explainability of machine learning models, and how to optimize the performance of these systems in real-world settings.

  • Book Series – Frontiers of AI, Ethics, and Multidisciplinary Applications:
    • The series publishes research monographs, practitioner-authored works, and case studies showcasing innovative practices.
    • Edited volumes present diverse perspectives.
    • One book has already been published.
  • Annual International Conference – FAIEMA:
    • The Springer International Conference focuses on AI, Ethics, and Multidisciplinary Applications.
    • Provides a platform for researchers, leaders, and policymakers to discuss forefront AI topics with an emphasis on ethical, explainable, privacy-preserving, trustworthy, and sustainable approaches.
    • Successfully organized FAIEMA 2023 in Athens, Greece, featuring impactful scientific presentations and discussions on AI, Ethical AI, AI Applications, Robotics, and Interdisciplinary Applications.
  • Joint Research Funding Application:
    • Group members assess relevant calls within National and EU funding schemes.
    • Collaborate to develop at least one funding application annually.
    • Submitted applications: EU Cost Action 2023, Ongoing: EU Horizon R&I application.
  • Joint Research Publications:
    • Members with similar research interests collaborate to produce and publish a minimum of three joint scientific papers each year.
