Content
The course emphasizes craftsmanship in composition and/or arranging. This is done in a combination with score studies, compositional methodological analyzes and assignments. These are preferably written within the framework of ensembles that the faculty has the opportunity to arrange if the composition/arrangement is to be performed.
Teaching is given in groups or individually.
Learning outcome
After completing and passing the exam in the subject, the candidate must have acquired the knowledge, skills and general competence that enable the person concerned to:

Portfolio evaluation. The final grade in the subject is based on a portfolio of compositional work in which the student presents a repertoire of approximately 12-15 minutes of his/her most important works. These works are evaluated based on the score/sound files. They can be supplemented with a recording or a concert.
Coursework requirements
100% compulsory attendance at classes and compulsory participation in projects and concerts.
In order to be able to sit f the exam in the subject, the student must have approved all mandatory work requirements.
Reference is made to the faculty's "Attendance requirements", which follow UiS's examination regulations.
