Dr. Kristoffer Svendsen started as an associate professor in law at UiS Business School earlier this year. He is a lawyer educated in Australia, Russia, USA and Norway.
Dr. Svendsen wrote his PhD at the UiT - Arctic University of Norway and, during that time, spent several years at Tulane Law School, Duke Law School, Northern (Arctic) Federal University in Russia and the Norwegian-Russian University Centre in St. Petersburg.
His wrote his PhD about the tort liability for offshore oil spills in the Barents Sea, examining Norwegian and Russian legal issues. He continued in a post-doctoral position at the UiT - Arctic University of Norway, after which he worked as a visiting researcher at Tulane Law School.
While pursuing his academic career, Dr. Svendsen has worked as Of Counsel for a Moscow law firm, visiting expert at the University of Nantes, and founded several start-ups.
