Write! with the library

Author and professor Bjørn Arild Ersland is coming to the University Library in Stavanger for a sofa conversation about creative writing in academic texts. With over 40 books to his name and a professorship in creative writing at UiS, he has extensive experience in the field. He recently contributed to the book Skriv dristig og kreativt!: veiledning i skrivelyst and will share valuable advice on how creativity can help you improve your writing. 

We will discuss how you can: 

• Keep your writing flowing and avoid writer’s block 

• Create engaging and reader-friendly academic texts 

• Use creativity to develop your own writing voice 

Program

The event includes a conversation with the opportunity for questions, followed by a practical writing session where you can receive guidance in academic writing: 

14:15-15:00 – Sofa conversation on creative writing in academic texts 

15:00-15:10 – Break 

15:10-16:00 – Work on your own text and receive guidance (plus a snack) 

Open to students, faculty, and PhD candidates. We will provide food and drinks – sign up here so we know how many to order for.
