About the Department of Mathematics and Physics

The Department is part of the Faculty of Science and Technology. We offer degree programmes from Bachelor level, through Master level to Doctoral level.

The Department of Mathematics and Physics (IMF) provides education and performs research and dissemination within the scientific disciplines Mathematics, Statistics and Physics. The Department counts 22 permanent scientific staff members, and a similar number of fixed-term researchers and doctoral students.

The degree portfolio includes programmes in Mathematics and Physics at bachelor, Master and Doctoral level, as well as continuing learning courses. Also, the IMF is responsible for all basic teaching in Mathematics, Statistics and Physics at the Faculty of Science and Technology.

In addition to education and research, the Department has a substantial dissemination activity aimed at the high-school sector and as organizers of, and contributors to, public and professional events in person and on-line.

Studies

The Department of Mathematics and Physics offers study programmes and continuing education courses. In addition, the Faculty offers a Ph.D. programme in Information Technology, Mathematics and Physics.
