  • Name and age: Kenneth Gudmundsen, 43 years old
  • My home is: Skien
  • I'm currently studying: ConductIT

I chose this study because:

I want to further develop myself as a conductor with the opportunity for practical experience with professional musicians, focusing on symphonic music. At the same time I receive excellent guidance in the ensembles I direct daily, with a particular focus on choirs. This is with the goal of advancing my ability to conduct opera, including directing opera choirs.

How is the student environment and network during the study?

Great and supportive group with excellent and inspiring gatherings. Very useful monthly follow-ups from the teacher on the practice I have as a conductor in the ensembles/choirs I direct on a daily basis.

Trust yourself and pursue your dreams even if they seem difficult to reach.
Give your dream time.

Kenneth Gudmundsen , ConductIT student

This is my dream job:

Conductor for a professional symphony orchestra.

In addition to studies, I work as:

Psychologist.

These are my best tips to the future students:

  • Trust yourself and pursue your dreams even if they seem difficult to reach.
  • Give your dream time. Build it "brick by brick".

Since 2009, I have regularly taken conducting lessons and masterclasses. In 2013, I participated in the Conductors' Week for the first time, an experience filled with great joy and learning. Returning to the Conductors' Week over several years has led to further studies, beginning with Digital Conducting Studies at the University of Stavanger in 2017 and currently in the ongoing ConductIT program at the same institution.
