Open house at The Faculty of Performing Arts: Culture for Ukraine

Every Monday this spring, you can come and visit us in Bjergsted to share, participate or experience culture across national borders.

Culture for Ukraine

Culture for Ukraine is a weekly open cultural event where we invite singers, musicians and dancers at all levels join us to collaborate in performing and sharing our arts with each other and with the general audience. The event is open to practitioners as well as to the general public and is held every Monday from 17:00-20:00 at the Faculty of Performing Arts in Bjergsted, Stavanger. We especially invite Ukrainian refugees and want to be a meeting place where we share song, music and dance and create a social community. At the same time, we invite Norwegians and all other nationalities to participate and contribute as well. We hope that such a meeting place will contribute to developing new contacts and to strengthen interpersonal and cross-cultural ties, culture, values ​​and humanism. 

We encourage singers, musicians and dancers who want to contribute with content to our weekly events. Other art forms may also be relevant. Both Ukrainian refugees and all other interested - including the faculty's own students and staff - are encouraged to contribute. We hope that everyone who love singing, music and dance will visit us, whether you participate actively or as an audience. Please contact us if you want to contribute, have an idea to share with us, a question or other input. If you simply want to listen and participate as audience, you don’t have register, just show up. 

The events are held every Monday from 17:00 - 20:00 in Hetland-salen at Bjergsted (find directions here). There will be performances, soup serving and mingling. There will also be a Ukrainian interpreter present. Feel free to bring a friend, your family, neighbor or come alone - we welcome everyone to our open house at the Faculty of Performing Arts!
