About me
Ali Turkyilmaz is a Professor of Operations and Production Management at UiS School of Business and Law.
His research interests include Operations and Supply Chain Management and Analytics, Optimization of Production and Service Systems, Quality & Lean Management, Decision Making, Industry 4.0 & Digital Transformation, Circular Economy, and Resilient and Sustainable Systems.
Post Graduate Research Supervision:
Ali supervises post‑graduate research in Operations and Supply Chain Management, with a particular focus on resilient, sustainable/circular and responsible production and service systems. Potential research areas, among others, include:
- The role of the twin transition (smart and green) and lean systems as dynamic capabilities
- Circular value chain analysis, including eco-design, reverse logistics, servitization & PSS, localization, industrial symbiosis, and product‑life‑extension strategies
- Operations and supply chain analytics/optimization and Industry 4.0 technologies (AI, machine learning, big data, digital twins, IoT, blockchain, DPP, digital inventory)
- Supply chain disruptions and effective mitigation/resilience strategies
- Process optimization through Lean & Six Sigma Management
- The integration of SMEs into global supply chains
- Emerging and fragile supply chains (e.g., humanitarian supply chains) operating under uncertainty and resource scarcity
